Science education is the teaching and learning of science to non-scientists, such as school children, college students, or adults within the general public. The field of science education includes work in science content, science process the scientific method , some social science , and some teaching pedagogy. The standards for science education provide expectations for the development of understanding for students through the entire course of their K education and beyond.

Students have been encouraged to take more than one CSET and content-focused methods course. Through the Teacher Recruitment Committee, the SOE has put together a list of scholarships available for students in teacher education. Recruitment, campus visits, and EDUC are components of this partnership.

We have continued this course for a second year and added a third school, Calistoga High School. This helps to cover credentialing fees, exam preparation fees, and textbook stipends.

Undergraduates enrolled in waiver programs receive support for clearance costs and permission costs. Overview Science courses or science methods courses Next Gen PET is intended primarily for university courses in physics or physical science for prospective elementary teachers. There is sufficient material for a one-semester quarter course or a two-semester two-quarter sequence. Next Gen PET is also appropriate for general education courses on conceptual physics or physical science, science methods courses, or workshops for in-service teachers. Next Gen PET materials are flexible and modular, and instructors can use them in a variety of ways, depending on audience, time, and learning objectives.
